Beauty comes in all shapes and sizes, and this itty bitty flower is no exception. I noticed this little gem when my dog (a ferocious chihuahua!) was chewing on it. I saved it from its fate, and found the simplicity of its delicate petals against the hard grain of a stone to be too beautiful to pass up a photo opportunity! While the colors are soft, they are also impactful. To me this expresses a mother’s wise words, and would make a lovely palette for a Mother’s Day Celebration!

The fun part about this palette is, it isn’t quite obvious! The rainbow themed mason jars of course screams of a rainbow party. But by pulling out only the three closest shades, the rainbow theme dulls to a beautiful soft palette. Here I see a Gender Reveal Party! Blue is always an obvious choice, while purple provides a fresh version of the ‘opposing’ side. The green pulls them together in a soft gender neutral tone!

I have to be honest here, this palette gave me pause. In fact the photo in general did! I immediately pulled out the gorgeous jewel tones from the photograph, but they didn’t ‘speak’ to me! I finally pulled out softer versions and it seemed to fit perfectly. But I still couldn’t grab a theme from it. I was about to give up, when a friend suggested a ‘Cast Party’. I almost ignored it, but the idea stuck with me. How fun would a cast party be? Maybe a kids birthday, dressed up as actors. Or an actual Cast Party after a great show! It colors could work for any age, and the theme could stretch for any interpretation. I love it!

I rarely edit floral fine art in regards to textures and colors, I find their unique tones to be much more beautiful. And this Iris is no exception. That creamy gorgeous background is from other Iris’s still wrapped in their cocoons. This one was the first to bravely begin shedding its protective skin. The colors remind me of cranberry’s, which make a striking but understated palette that would be perfect for a party. I see a sophisticated birthday party with unique, tangy cosmos and margarita’s!

San Francisco Golden Gate Bridge. This bridge never ceases to amaze me, and you know that I can’t possibly go to SF without taking a picture of it! This particular day was cold and foggy (shocker!) and the general atmosphere was so dull I was practically taking the image in B&W! This particular processing is full of creamy grey tones, and silky taupes. You probably thought my party inspiration would be black and white ball style, but in fact I see more of birthday party, something bold and dark and (slightly) masculine, but still sophisticated. I see a big 3-0!
